Bizen Koku Ju Osafune saku was the blacksmith who forged this especially beautiful sword in the year of 1561, signed and dated it. Kiyomitsu is one of the famous and very good scilled blacksmith from the Bizen-den. This is perfectly shown with this Katana. Fujishiro is rating him a very good smith. And he his called wazamono smith. Meaning is he is known for very sharp swords. This Katana is ubu (unshortened). Besides the beautiful made steel, the typical Hamon and elegant sori (curvature) this blade is fully mounted with a decent Koshirae. That makes it an elegant pair of beauty.

This Katana is a Tokubetsu Hozon of NBTHK in Tokyo.
